Fathom, Arrow, Impulse and xStream for liquid, gas and transient flow.
Prior project work across refining, power, water and building systems.
Each service starts from the problem you are seeing in the plant, then models the system to find the cause and test the fix.

For flows and pressures that no longer match the design, or an expansion that needs checking first. A steady-state model calibrated against your field data.
Flow modeling services
For pressure spikes, banging or vacuum after a pump trip or fast valve closure. Transient scenarios checked against your allowable limits.
Surge analysis services
Pump and system curves for the whole network, for pumps running far from best efficiency or failing repeatedly.
Pump system services
Fuel-gas and process-gas systems that have to ride through a turbine trip or sudden valve closure.
Gas flow services
Ducts and exhaust systems that are not moving the airflow their fans were sized for.
Airflow services
Work performed by our team members before FSPG, shown as project experience.
The full cooling-water network was modeled and checked against field pressure, flow and temperature readings, with close agreement between measured and modeled conditions. The refinery came away with a calibrated model it can use to test system changes before committing to them.
Read the case studyFour transient studies from our team's prior project experience, each answering whether a system stays within its pressure limits.

Low-pressure surge at the system high point after a pump trip was assessed against several mitigation options. The system could withstand the brief cavitating pressures, so added surge equipment was found unnecessary.

A gas-turbine trip was modeled as a sudden valve closure on the fuel-gas system. Peak surge pressures would not trip the companion turbine or lift any relief valves.

Emergency-shutdown valve closures were evaluated on a line with a problematic response at low flow, setting which valves could close, and how fast, within allowable pressures.

Pump trips, pump starts and valve closures were run on a condenser cooling-water system, and air/vacuum breaker valves were sized to keep transients within limits.
Piping and ducting systems in plants, pipelines and buildings, wherever flow, pressure and transients decide whether a system works.

Cooling water, firewater and process piping.

Nuclear and condenser cooling water, turbine fuel gas.

Pump stations, force mains and pipelines.

Valve closure and pump trips in process piping.

High-rise chilled water and exhaust systems.
Our Principal Consultant has spent more than a decade on pump, piping and ducting flow analysis, including years training and supporting engineers on the AFT software these models are built in. Every engagement follows the same path.
Build the model from your drawings, data sheets and operating records.
Find where the system departs from what it was designed to do, and why.
Compare against field measurements so the model reflects the plant as it actually runs.
Test modifications, operating scenarios and equipment changes on the model first.
A written report your engineers, managers and contractors can act on.
